Lo he visto, je,je.

Blackmores dives into Chinese herbal medicine with $23m buy Date May 6, 2016

Advertisement "It's not going to happen overnight but there is a fantastic opportunity," she told Fairfax Media on Friday. "It will enable us to better understand the Chinese consumer and get closer to them". Ms Holgate said it would also fill a gap in the Blackmores product range. "It's the natural medicine part we've not been strong in," she said. Global Therapeutics was established in Byron Bay in 1999 by naturopath and herbalist Paul Keogh and natural health industry veteran Geoff Teasel. Ms Holgate said the business had increased sales 24 per cent in the past 12 months. The business made $3 million in earnings before income tax, depreciation and amortisation in the last year and had $20 million in sales. Mr Teasel is bowing out of the industry but Mr Keogh is staying with the business. Ms Holgate said there were more than 4700 reigstered traditional Chinese medicine practitioners in Australia and it was a fast-growing market. She said the Fusion and Oriental Botanicals brands would continue and there were no plans to put the Blackmores name on packaging. Some of the biggest selling products among the range are Fusion Health Astra 8 immune tonic, Fusion Health Hair Tonic with phytofol and and an anti-inflammatory product called Oriental Botanicals Bioenhanced Curcumin Excel. Ms Holgate said Global Therapeutics had experienced all its growth in the domestic market so far. "All of this growth is inside Australia," she said. Blackmores has been one of the biggest success stories on the Australian Securities Exchange over the past 18 months, with prodigious growth in sales to China because of demand for "clean and green" Australian vitamin brands. This followed health scares among local Chinese producers of infant formula and milk powder. Last week Blackmores announced that it had more than doubled profits in the three months ended March 31 to $27.3 million. Asian shoppers now make up 50 per cent of total Blackmores sales. Blackmores shares hit a record of $220.90 in early January after sitting at $25 in August 2014 as investors piled in to benefit from the extraordinary growth in the Asian business. But some uncertainty about the impact of new Chinese e-commerce regulations and the hefty multiples Blackmores had been trading at triggered a sell-off in its shares over the past few weeks. It has now stabilised at about $169 a share. Read more: http://www.smh.com.au/business/retai...#ixzz4AAZN2S94 Follow us: @smh on Twitter | sydneymorningherald on Facebook |

Blackmores to be top five vitamin supplier to China Blackmores is on the edge of becoming one of the top five vitamin brands selling online in China, according to analysts who say the company’s sales have not been hit by demand concerns in the Asian giant. Credit Suisse analyst Ben Levin said both the bank’s data on Alibaba selling platforms and industry feedback suggested that improving sales momentum for Blackmores’ products may have continued in December, backing up a stronger November. “In fact, we have seen evidence that Blackmores is firmly in the top 10, if not skirting the top 5, vitamins brands, domestic and international, selling online in China,” he said in a client note on the company. Mr Levin maintained his “outperform” rating on Blackmores, saying the stock had been trading about 9 per cent below its recent $119-a-share high. Shares in Blackmores added 4.5 per cent yesterday to close the day at $112.73. The analyst said the recent share price dip was probably due to negative news about infant formula company Bellamy’s. Bellamy’s share price has been in free fall after it overestimated China sales in supply contracts with dairy suppliers Fonterra and Bega, leaving it with unsold stock. Its troubles led to this week’s axing of chief executive Laura McBain. “Bellamy’s update (this week) provided further evidence that its slower sales and supply chain challenges should not be treated as a sector read-through,” Mr Levin said. “We are not observing slowing Blackmores end-market sales, although we acknowledge that Blackmores’ China selling channels are notoriously difficult to follow.” The Credit Suisse analyst said his investment case remained, underpinned by Blackmores converting its brand strength into the offline channel. He also said he expected Blackmore’s inventory position for the first half of 2017 would improve as retailer/wholesale destocking subsided and December quarter sales improved. In Blackmores’ last quarterly results, released in October, its China business recorded a 220 per cent jump in sales to $31 million, while Australian sales were down 40 per cent to $68m. Blackmores chief executive Christine Holgate said at the time the quarterly results were released that it was *estimated that destocking ac*counted for about $17m of the slump in Australian sales, adding there was a $28m hit attributed to a “huge shift” in how Chinese exporters purchased products through retail channels. The first quarter results had recorded a 46.6 per cent drop in net profit to $12m and an 8.1 per cent fall in group sales to $149m. The company said at the time that consumer demand remained high but the first-quarter profit was hit by softer sales in Australia on the back of changes in the export market to China http://www.theaustralian.com.au/busi...f7797a60530af4 Última edición por sevilla2014 fecha: 14-ene-2017 a las 18:35 |
